The snows of Sunday and Monday created a treacherous situation for commuters and snow plow drivers alike. A Clackamas County snow plow was towed from the side of Troutcreek Road, south of Molalla, where it slid off the road this morning.

Molalla Police Department arrested a suspect in a failed burglary attempt this afternoon. Shawn Chapple, 40, confessed to using a metal plumbing fixture to smash the back window of a house on North Cole Street near Clark Park.
Unfortunately for him, the house was not empty.

Asked why he chose to drive a Jeep Cherokee into the Molalla River at Wagon Wheel Park this afternoon, Vitaly Chernov, 27, of Vancouver, Wash., said, “I tried to go to Russia.”
But where he will likely end up tonight is in the Clackamas County Jail on a reckless driving charge.

Dan Jacober enters not-guilty plea

Molalla resident and Sherwood police sergeant Dan Jacober pleaded not-guilty today to a misdemeanor charge of prostitution in Multnomah County. Jacober was arrested in downtown Portland on Dec. 6 as part of a Portland Police Bureau prostitution decoy mission. He was put on paid leave from the Sherwood Police Department following his arrest.
