Spring cleaning can be a rejuvenating experience, and so can redesigning a newspaper. Spring just seems to be the best time to make changes.
There are some exciting improvements in the works at the Molalla Pioneer in the coming weeks. For about a month you’ll see small changes appearing throughout the paper — better organized pages, added features, new online offerings, more news, and even a crossword puzzle. You wouldn’t believe the number of people who have been asking for a puzzle.
Before it even starts getting warm outside, all of these changes will culminate in a complete redesign of the paper including reorganized news content, additional features, and a brand new look that we think will make the paper easier to navigate and more fun to use. And best of all, we based our redesign on what people told us they’d like their paper to look like. It will be even more a paper of your making.
And these changes aren’t just limited to the printed paper. Our Web site and news blog will become better paired with the regular newspaper. One new feature that we think is really exciting is the ability of readers to comment on the main stories in the paper. Look at the end of each news story for more information about how to put your two cents in online at our blog. We’ll even print many of the online comments in the paper. So the news will be a real conversation.
