Molalla Police Department arrested a suspect in a failed burglary attempt this afternoon. Shawn Chapple, 40, confessed to using a metal plumbing fixture to smash the back window of a house on North Cole Street near Clark Park.

The 20-year-old woman who died in this morning’s crash on Highway 213 was Rocio Fregoso Navarro of Molalla, who was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt northbound over the Marquam Creek Bridge when she lost control and slid broadside into the northbound lane.
